The Today Show co-host Hoda Kotb has adopted a baby girl.
The 52-year-old revealed on Tuesday (21Feb17) that she has adopted a daughter named Haley Joy, and that the infant was born on 14 February (17).
“She’s a Valentine’s baby,” gushed Hoda during a phone call to her breakfast show colleagues to announce her happy news. “She is the love of my life.”
The arrival thrilled Hoda’s co-workers, including her friend and co-anchor, Kathie Lee Gifford, who managed to keep the news a secret in the studio.
“I’ve got the biggest mouth in the world and I’ve said zilch,” she said. “Hoda, we are thrilled for you, sweetheart. You were made to be a mom.”
Meanwhile, host Matt Lauer described Haley as the “luckiest girl in the world”.

Hoda also shared a picture on social media of her holding Haley to her shoulder and patting her on the back alongside the message, “my girl” followed by love heart emojis.
Hoda, who won a Daytime Emmy Award as part of the Today team in 2010, lives in New York with her financier partner Joel Schiffman, who she has been in a relationship with since 2013.
The presenter was previously married to former University of New Orleans tennis coach Burzis Kanga. The couple divorced in 2007 after two years of marriage, and had no children.
