Ultravox and Simple Minds team up for tour

New wave group Ultravox and rockers Simple Minds are teaming up for a joint U.K. tour. The two British bands, who found fame in the late 1970s and early ’80s, will hit the road together in November (13) for shows in cities including Glasgow, Scotland and Manchester, England.
Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr tells the BBC, “We’re really delighted to be playing Ultravox… they were two or three years before us… They were like the prototype for Simple Minds.”
Ultravox frontman Midge Ure adds, “It makes perfect sense. Things are tough out there for people and the idea of seeing two bands… from the same period… makes it a good, valuable evening out.”
The tour will conclude at London’s O2 Arena on 30 November (13).
