Actress Uma Thurman will romance Matthew McConaughey in new thriller Serenity.
The Kill Bill star is the latest big name to join the cast of Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight’s new directorial project, after Anne Hathaway signed on in January (17) to portray McConaughey’s ex-wife, reports Deadline.com.
Actors Jason Clarke and Djimon Hounsou have also boarded the picture, which will centre on a fishing boat captain, played by McConaughey, whose life on a small island is turned upside down when he is confronted by people from his past.
Production is set to take place in Mauritius, making it the first Hollywood feature film to be shot on the idyllic island.
Clarke’s Zero Dark Thirty producer Greg Shapiro will work on Serenity alongside Locke’s Guy Heeley.
The movie will also reunite Hathaway with her Interstellar co-star McConaughey.
