Unheard John Coltrane album to be released

A 55-year-old lost album from late jazz icon John Coltrane will be released next month (Sep19).
Blue World was recorded in 1964 and features new versions of the legendary saxophonist’s hits, including Naima, Village Blues, and Like Sonny, performed with the other members of Coltrane’s famed quartet – Jimmy Garrison, Elvin Jones and McCoy Tyner.
The title track, which has not been previously heard, was released earlier this week (ends18Aug19).
The album will debut on 27 September (19), according to the New York Daily News.
Last year another unheard John Coltrane Quartet album was released. Both Directions At Once: The Lost Album featured recordings made in 1963 and gave the star his first posthumous entry on the U.S. Billboard 200 sales chart.
Coltrane passed away in 1967.
