Universal buys Latin RMM Records

Universal Music Group, the world’s biggest music company has bought bankrupt Latin music label RMM Records, whose library includes recordings by Latin gurus Tito Puente and Celia Cruz. According to Reuters, the new deal will bring the work of more than 130 artists, including Jose Alberto, Tito Nieves and Oscar D’Leon, to Universal. All Spanish-language albums will revert to Universal upon the expiration of the current distribution arrangement. Universal is owned by Vivendi Universal.
