Unpublished Tennessee Williams story printed for first time

A previously unreleased short story by author and playwright Tennessee Williams has been published for the first time. Crazy Night, which is believed to date back to the 1930s, details an encounter between the narrator, a college freshman, and a woman named Anna Jean, only to lose her to the charms of another student.
Literary experts are convinced the character was inspired by Williams’ old college girlfriend, Anna Jean O’Donnell, who he dated briefly while attending the University of Missouri.
The story has been printed in the new spring (14) edition of literary journal The Strand, after managing editor, Andrew F. Gulli, discovered the long-lost work while researching Williams in the archives at the University of Texas.
The revered writer died in 1983.
