Val Kilmer sued over artwork

Actor Val Kilmer is facing a lawsuit over his tumbleweed artwork.
Artist Bale Creek Allen is suing the Heat star, claiming the actor’s $150,000 (GBP114,600) Tumbleweed art piece is a ripoff of his work. Allen claims he has been creating similar artwork for several years and has a copyright for the sculptures.
According to TMZ, Kilmer previously visited Bale’s New Mexico gallery and quizzed Allen about his pieces. The artist claims Kilmer was interested in buying one until he was told how much they were.
Allen is suing for damages and is requesting the actor be banned from making any pieces that are similar to his.
The artist has made a name for himself by styling and colouring tumbleweed he finds in his native California and near his Austin, Texas gallery.
