Video director sentenced to 50 years for repeatedly raping his daughter

Disgraced music video director Aswad Ayinde has been sentenced to serve an additional 50 years behind bars after he was convicted of impregnating his own daughter four times from the age of eight. The Nigerian filmmaker, known for directing The Fugees’ promo for Killing Me Softly, had already been jailed for 40 years in 2010 after he was convicted of raping another of his girls, and he was back in court in New Jersey last week (ends26Jul13) to answer more charges of child sex abuse.
Prosecutors claimed Ayinde, 55, had proclaimed himself a prophet and wanted to create a ‘pure’ bloodline that he was convinced would survive an apocalypse and, on Friday (26Jul13), he was found guilty of continually molesting his now 35-year-old daughter from the time she was a child until she was 22, resulting in the birth of four kids.
Superior Court Judge Raymond Reddin demanded the filmmaker spend an extra five decades in prison and he expressed his disgust at Ayinde’s actions, telling him, “By 13, most fathers are taking their daughters to the park… teaching them to ride a bike. You took her in the bedroom and repeatedly raped her to complete your disgusting, revolting fantasies.”
The director, also known as Charles McGill, faces three more trials over similar allegations made by other daughters after requesting separate hearings for each case.
