Viola Davis and husband producing high school TV special

Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon have signed onto executive produce a TV special about high schools in America.
EIF Presents: XQ Super School Live will focus on ways “to help rethink the future of American high schools”, with the special, directed by Hamish Hamilton, featuring musical performances, comedic sketches, and documentary segments, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It will air live on multiple U.S. networks on September 8, 2017, from Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in California.
“We are excited to team up with (Entertainment Industry Foundation) EIF and XQ Institute to help bring awareness to the issue of high school education and ensure that our students are receiving an education that prepares them for the future,” a joint statement from Davis and Tennon reads. “As executive producers of this live special, we are honored to work alongside some incredible names in the entertainment and education space.”
