Vivica A. Fox: ’50 Cent holds a special place in my heart’

Vivica A. Fox will always cherish her relationship with rapper 50 Cent, but she knows they can never be together again.
The Independence Day star briefly dated 50 some years ago and famously feuded with him following her appearance on U.S. late night show Watch What Happens Live in November (15), when she attacked him for suggesting her hit TV drama Empire suffered a temporary ratings drop because of multiple gay storylines.
When pressed, the actress suggested she had her suspicions about her ex, telling host Andy Cohen, “He just seems like he’s got something that’s not quite clear.” Fox then brought up an XXL magazine cover which featured her former lover and fellow rapper Soulja Boy, and said the picture raised flags for her because 50 looked like “a booty snatcher”.
50 Cent fired back at her in an online rant, writing, “Oh No!!!, Now she thinks I’m gay because I let her lick my A**. LMAO (laugh my a** off). Wait, I didn’t want her to, she forced me, my hands were tied. 50 shades of grey.”
He added, “b**ch remember when you told me f**k Halle Berry and you could have played all the roles she did better then her? And I just looked at you like what the f**k kind (of) s**t did you take?”
However, despite their public feud, the 51-year-old actress insists she will always remember her time with 50 fondly.
“I will always have a very special place in my heart for him just because at one point I was in love with him, I dated him,” she told Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (16Jun16). “But, that ship has sailed.”
“It was crazy, we only dated for less than six months, but it lasted on and off for years,” she continued. “You know how sometimes you’ve dated someone and no matter how much you’ve cared for them, you just know you’re not right for each other – and that’s OK.”
