Dancehall star Vybz Kartel was convicted of murder in his native Jamaica on Thursday (13Mar14). The Pon De Floor hitmaker, real name Adidja Palmer, was found guilty of killing his former associate Clive Williams in August, 2011. Williams’ body has never been found.
The 11-member jury in Kingston’s Supreme Court handed down the verdict less than two hours after starting deliberations.
Also found guilty in the case were Kartel’s associates, Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St. John. A fourth, Shane Williams, was acquitted.
The star is scheduled to be sentenced on 27 March (14).
Last year (13), Kartel was cleared of the 2011 murder of a businessman.
