Wale visits Nigeria for the first time to meet family

Rapper Wale has visited his ancestral home in Nigeria for the first time for a new documentary. The Pretty Girls hitmaker always longed to go to Africa to meet family members as her grew up in Washington, D.C., but his parents were too poor to send him, and then when he became famous his busy schedule prevented him from tracing his roots.
Wale headed to Africa at the end of last year (13) as part of the documentary Wale: I Am From – and managed to find his grandparents and other relatives.
The trip was filmed for a spot on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ new music TV channel, Revolt TV. Wale: I Am From will air in the U.S. later this month (Jan14).
