Warwick Davis studied his dog for Star Wars character

Actor Warwick Davis studied his dog to create his character Wicket’s mannerisms in the Star Wars sequel Return Of The Jedi. The Brit, who suffers from dwarfism, was just 17 when he first became part of the Star Wars family in the early 1980s, and in a recent Reddit.com webchat, he revealed some facts from his first major film.
He said, “The characteristics of Wicket in Return of the Jedi were modelled on my pet dog who used to tilt his head from side to side when he heard a strange sound. I felt this would work quite well for the character.
“Also, the food that Princess Leia gives Wicket was actually one of those healthy but horrible-tasting rice cakes.”
Davis also revealed, “Wicket’s voice was actually recorded by a Native American.”
