ABC has announced it’ll devote four hours to its coverage of the 52nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. We can’t tell yet if this is supposed to be good news or bad.
The Emmys usually get three hours (well, three scheduled hours). This year’s extra-special fourth hour will be devoted to a red-carpet preshow, a la the Academy Awards. No word if Oscar red-carpet vet Tyra Banks will be brought on board to ask Dennis Franz how he gets so hot like that.
Garry Shandling is already on tap as host of the main show to air Sept. 10.
