Weezer star forgives dad for walking out on family

Weezer star Rivers Cuomo has found peace in his relationship with his once-estranged father revealing he watches videos of his preacher dad’s sermons to prepare for concert performances. The Buddy Holly singer’s drummer dad walked out on the family when he was four and he only saw his father four times in 20 years.
Cuomo vented his frustrations over his fractured relationship with his dad in the Weezer song Say It Ain’t So, calling him an ex-drunk, but now he has resolved his issues with his father.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “Now I see him all the time. Now that I’m a father, I’ve forgiven my parents.
“He (father) has the same body type, the same type of voice. Like me, he’s very introverted.”
