Wesley Snipes writing his first novel

Actor Wesley Snipes is expanding his resume by co-writing a supernatural thriller novel.
The Blade star is set to release his debut novel Talon of God on 25 July (17) with publisher Harper Voyager, an imprint of HarperCollins. The thriller, co-written with Ray Norman, will follow Lauren Jefferson, a beautiful young doctor who is pulled into an apocalyptic battle between the forces of heaven and hell to fight alongside spiritual warrior Talon Hunter.
The 54-year-old told Deadline.com he had been working on the book with Norman, a first-time novelist who has previously ghost-written books on health and nutrition, for two years after meeting over a different project.
Explaining the plot, he said, “There are spiritual warriors that inhabit this planet who are here to help balance out the evil forces, and they are always looking for the next apprentice.”
He hopes the novel, which has “an urban element, a hip-hop element, supernatural elements,” will be adapted into a movie as he specifically wrote a strong female lead to “bridge the gap in terms of equality of action content for women.”
