Will Smith delighted fans with an epic remix of some of the most beloved sitcom theme songs on live TV.
The Hollywood superstar joined Jimmy Fallon on his The Tonight Show on Thursday night (22Mar18), where he discussed his latest project, National Geographic Channel documentary series One Strange Rock.
But prior to starting the interview, host Jimmy asked Will if he’d duet with him on a medley of TV sitcom themes, with the pair starting out with Thank You for Being a Friend from classic show The Golden Girls.
They then went on to run through the themes from programmes such as The Jeffersons, Diff’rent Strokes, Good Times, The Andy Griffith Show, I Dream of Jeannie, Full House, The Greatest American Hero and Martin.
And to close out the surprise performance with a bang, Will and Jimmy rapped the theme tune of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the show that launched Will’s career back in the ’90s.
Audience members took to their feet as the duo started the song, with the entire crowd going wild when they both ran off the stage and up the stairs of the studio.
“That’s the one and only Will Smith!” smiled Jimmy at the end of the high-energy medley.
Once the pair caught their breath, they returned to the desk to continue their chat. Among the topics the presenter questioned Will about was his newfound interest in social media.
“My family thinks I love it too much for sure. I’m on YouTube punishment at home,” the 49-year-old laughed. “Because (my daughter) Willow, she does so much cute stuff and I just want to shoot it. But she’s 17 and like, ‘Daddy, for real, stop!'”
