Willie Nelson writing memoir at 80

Country superstar Willie Nelson is putting pen to paper to write a new memoir. The Whiskey River hitmaker, 80, has promised to deliver “the unvarnished, complete and tremendous story” of his life in the as-yet-untitled book, which will include personal memories and anecdotes about his friendships with fellow music icons Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings.
The tome will be published by Little, Brown and Company in 2015.
Nelson has already established himself as an author – his first autobiography, Willie, was released in 1988, while he has also opened up to fans in his tour journal, Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die: Musings from the Road.
