Writers talks continue Thursday

Another day has passed, and another announcement has been made that no agreement has been reached between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Sessions between the two parties were called “very tense negotiations” as the threat of a crippling strike still looms over the entertainment industry. Both sides have remained tight-lipped about the ongoing negotiations, keeping to their mutually agreed upon code of silence. Wednesday’s 14-hour session followed on the heels of Tuesday’s 17-hour marathon meeting, with seemingly little progress. The writers are currently working despite their contract having expired on Wednesday, and a walkout can’t happen without a formal vote of the 11,500 members of the WGA.
