XXXTentacion gets court date for domestic violence trial

Rapper Xxxtentacion’s domestic violence trial is to go ahead on 11 December (17), two months after he was originally due to appear in court.
Last October (16) the 19-year-old musician was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
XXXTentacion, real name, Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was due to go on trial in Miami-Dade County, Florida on Thursday (05Oc17) but his court date was postponed as his legal team were not ready to hear depositions.
Court records obtained by editors at Pitchfork Media show his trial date has been set for 11 December.
In the police’s original arrest the rapper, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, is accused of punching the victim until “both eyes became shut”.
In March (17), XXXTentacion pleaded no contest to unrelated armed home invasion, robbery, and aggravated battery with a firearm charges. A judge ordered him to serve six years of probation.
The hip-hop star released his debut album, 17, in August (17) and it rose to number two in the U.S. album chart. He has also received praise from stars including Kendrick Lamar and appears on Noah Cyrus’ new single, Again.
