Young Thug accuses jewellery store of fraud

Young Thug has accused a jewellery store of defrauding him and is demanding its $350,000 lawsuit against him is dismissed.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the 27-year-old rapper, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams, claims bosses at a shop in Atlanta, Georgia called Icebox took advantage of him and are now trying to tap him for money.

He denies claims filed in a lawsuit against him over an alleged unpaid jewellery bill of $115,000.

His counter-complaint claims that, “over the course of several months, and on multiple occasions, Plaintiff (Icebox) solicited Williams and urged him to accept expensive jewellery without requiring any payment up-front.”

Young Thug alleges Icebox bosses used “predatory” business practices to lend him $200,000 of jewellery under the promise he could pay later. He also states that his photos are still used on the firm’s social media feeds and wants their suit thrown out of court.

Icebox’s lawsuit claims Young Thug was lent $200,000 worth of jewellery and that the hip-hop star visited the store four times and was given a $30,000 Rolex watch, a $20,000 Cartier bracelet, a $30,000 diamond wallet chain and a $6,500 rose gold clasp.

Lawyers working for the firm claim he has paid $95,000 but owes $115,000. They are suing for the unpaid amount and $250,000 in damages.
