Young Thug requesting to have drug charges dismissed

Rapper Young Thug is seeking to have his charges stemming from a 2017 drug arrest dismissed after alleging police officers acted improperly.
The Pick Up the Phone star was stopped by Georgia police officers in September, 2017 for driving around in a car with illegally tinted front windows, and during the traffic stop, the cops allegedly found marijuana and guns in the vehicle. He was booked on a felony drug count and a misdemeanour for the tinted windows, and during a court appearance, he was was also hit with a felony charge for gun possession.
In September (18), he turned himself in to police officials in September (18) after being slapped with five extra counts relating to the arrest, including possession and intent to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana, and hydrocodone, along with possession of amphetamine, alprazolam, and codeine, and a firearm.
According to The Blast, Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, is now requesting to have the statements he made during his arrest thrown out because he was allegedly not read his Miranda Rights, which allow him to stay silent. Williams also claims the traffic stop was unlawful and cops did not have probable cause to search his vehicle.
A judge has yet to rule on Williams’ request. He faces up to three years in prison if found guilty.
