Yuck frontman Daniel Blumberg quits

British rockers Yuck are on the hunt for a new frontman after lead singer Daniel Blumberg quit the band. The group’s self-titled debut album was released to critical acclaim in February 2011, but shortly before heading to New York to record the follow-up, the four-piece announced Blumberg is leaving to concentrate on other projects.
A statement posted on the band’s official Facebook.com page on Monday (15Apr13) reads, “Lots of new things have been happening in Yuck world. We’re getting ready to go to New York this week to record our 2nd album! Unfortunately, Daniel won’t be joining us as he’s decided to focus on other things. However, new music, new tour dates, and bigger afros will be coming very soon. So get ready. Get. Ready.”
Blumberg launched a side project called Oupa in 2011.
