The Vampire Diaries star Zach Roerig has launched a legal battle against his incarcerated ex-girlfriend in a bid to gain sole custody of their child. The actor, who plays Matt Donovan in the hit U.S. TV show, has a daughter with a woman named Alanna Turner, but he kept the 2011 birth out of the public eye until recently.
Roerig filed legal documents in Georgia last month (Jun13) applying for sole custody of the two year old on the basis of Turner’s current incarceration, according to TMZ.com.
In the paperwork, Roerig reportedly claims Turner is currently behind bars following three arrests and a guilty plea in federal court to “various crimes”.
The actor is also asking for Turner to pay him child support.
