Zachary Quinto Bringing ‘In Search Of’ Series Back to TV

Zachary Quinto is stepping into Leonard Nimoy’s shoes again to host an updated version of the Star Trek icon’s In Search Of TV show.

Quinto, who took over the Nimoy’s role of Mr. Spock in the new Star Trek movies, will host and executive produce the new 10-episode series, based on the late star’s 1970s franchise.

Like Nimoy’s show, Quinto’s will explore and examine unexplained phenomena from all over the world, according to Deadline.

The actor will investigate a different topic, ranging from alien encounters and UFO sightings to time travel and artificial intelligence, each week, while seeking out experts and witnesses.

The original In Search Of series aired in 1977 and was hosted by Rod Serling, Nimoy took over following Serling’s death.

“I am so excited to be reimagining In Search Of and exploring new questions and phenomena with all of the advancements in science and technology from which we have benefited in the past 40 years since the original series first aired,” Quinto says.

“In the spirit of my late dear friend Leonard Nimoy, we intend to honor and perpetuate his endless curiosity about the world – and universe – in which we live.

The series will also be distributed internationally.
