Zero Dark Thirty wins big at Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association

The action drama chronicles the decade-long manhunt for terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, and on Monday (10Dec12) the film claimed a trio of awards, including Best Director and Best Actress for Jessica Chastain.

The musical movie adaptation of Les Miserables scooped two trophies for Best Acting Ensemble and Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway), while Philip Seymour Hoffman landed the male equivalent for his part in The Master.

In addition, Daniel Day-Lewis earned the Best Actor prize for his leading role in Lincoln and David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook was named Best Adapted Screenplay.

Zero Dark Thirty is currently on a winning streak – it recently picked up Best Movie accolades from the New York Film Critics Circle, National Board of Review, and Boston Film Critics.
