Zoe Kravitz collaborates with YSL Beauty on lipstick collection

Zoe Kravitz has partnered with Yves Saint Laurent bosses to create a lipstick collection.
The Big Little Lies actress, who became a YSL Beauty muse in 2016, teased a partnership with the brand in early August (19), when she shared a promo video clip of herself cooking up a pot of red liquid in a kitchen, and it has now been revealed that she’s behind the YSL x Zoe Kravitz line, featuring six new shades of YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks.
The three red and three nude shades have a matte, satin finish and are named after Zoe’s loved ones. The first one, a rosewood nude named Arlene’s Nude, after her grandmother, was released on Tuesday and the rest will drop one by one throughout the week.
The collection also includes Lale’s Red, a reference to her mother Lisa Bonet’s nickname, a dark oxblood red with a shimmer satin finish, and others named after her brother Wolf, her dog Scout, and her godmothers Honey and Maris.
In an interview with Vogue, the 30-year-old explained she wanted to keep her range simple and create a make-up line she would wear herself.
“We started really classic and simple, which to me is really the foundation of my style,” she said. “It’s great to have really simple colours that you can build on top of, wear crazy outfits with, do a crazy eye with, which is why we kind of stayed with the nudes and the reds for this collection and go crazier as we go on. I hope they’re a good kind of accent to help people feel more confident.”
