Actress Zoe Saldana honored her late Star Trek co-star Anton Yelchin on what would have been his 29th birthday on Sunday (11Mar18).
The tragic actor died in a freak accident in June, 2016, after being crushed against a wall by his own car outside his Los Angeles home.
He would have turned 29 over the weekend, and Saldana noted his absence in a sweet snap on social media, posting a photo of Yelchin sharing a hug on set with his Star Trek castmates Zoe, Karl Urban, and John Cho.
“Happy birthday Anton– in our hearts forever,” she captioned the image of happier times.
Meanwhile, shock rocker Marilyn Manson also took a moment to mark Yelchin’s birthday via Twitter.
“I miss and wish I could be spending Anton Yelchin’s birthday together with him today,” the singer told fans, before addressing his late friend directly. “A- You will always be remembered. And I’ll miss you brother. I know you would have hated this twitter message. But it is making you laugh somewhere, you genius. M.”
Manson had been in talks with Yelchin to score his movie directorial debut, a crime thriller called Travis, at the time of his passing.
