Zoe Saldana was “shocked” that Britney Spears let slip the actress was pregnant with twins before she had shared the news publicly.
Britney inadvertently revealed Zoe’s happy news in an interview days after the pair, who were co-stars on 2002 movie Crossroads together, ran into each other on a domestic flight in 2014.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star, who is mother to twins Cy and Bowie, explained how the unfortunate slip up came about during an appearance on show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday (04May17).
“We were on the same flight from L.A. to New York and we just talked for the duration of the flight,” the 38-year-old told host Cohen.
“She has two boys, I was having twins – and we had a beautiful talk. And I forgot – it never even occurred to me to not to say anything. We weren’t trying to hide it, we were just trying to be discreet.”
However, Britney, unaware of Zoe’s intentions, spilled the beans in an interview with Entertainment Tonight a few days after the flight when she was asked if the pair had any plans to work together again.
“Who knows? That’s a very good idea. But she’s pregnant with twins right now. So I’m sure she’s got a huge future ahead of her,” Britney told the news outlet.
However, Zoe doesn’t hold any grudges, insisting she loves the Toxic singer, and considered the incident an “innocent” occurrence.
“The way that it happened was so innocent that I never even thought of holding her accountable for anything,” Zoe explained. “She was just being Britney. I love her – I don’t mean that in a negative way, I mean that in the way that she lives her life in such truth.
“I was shocked because we weren’t ready to sort of share that. But it was Britney, so it’s okay,” she smiled.
Zoe and husband Marco Perego are also parents to a third son named Zen, who was born in February (17).
