Zoey Deutch couldn’t believe her eyes when Kim Kardashian uploaded a post on social media praising her new movie.
The actress is currently promoting comedy-drama Flower, in which she plays a teenager who forms an unorthodox kinship with her mentally unstable stepbrother.
Reality TV star Kim recently shared a screenshot of the film’s poster image to her Instagram Stories page, and during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (21Mar18), California-born Zoey explained that the post was the best validation she could ever receive.
“I have no idea what happened but I don’t want to ask any questions,” she said of the message. “For a Valley girl, this is like, ‘The queen has spoken.’ There are two ways to handle this kind of situation, there’s the right and humble way and then there’s the wrong way. Which is my way – I texted every person I’ve ever met in my whole life, (saying), ‘Look what happened!'”
During the interview, host Jimmy shared that he was a big fan of Zoey’s parents – Back to the Future actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch – who met on the set of 1987 film Some Kind of Wonderful.
The star shared that the pair have now been married for what seems like “four thousand” years, she still doesn’t buy their story that they didn’t start dating until after the movie had wrapped.
“For some reason they claim they had their first kiss after they did the movie at the premiere, and I don’t buy it for a second,” the 23-year-old laughed.
The Why Him? star also shared she always knew that she wanted to pursue a Hollywood career, and had been working on her acting and impressions ever since she was a child. And she then demonstrated to Jimmy how she can manipulate her face to make it appear as if she has had plastic surgery, with the hilarious end result garnering a round of applause from the audience.
