Hue and Cry back David Bowie fundraiser

Scottish pop duo Hue and Cry are backing a campaign to raise money for cancer research with a musical tribute to David Bowie.
The Labour of Love stars, comprised of brothers Pat and Greg Kane, recorded their own version of the late icon’s 1975 track Win for the BuskingforBowie fundraiser, in aid of British charity Cancer Research UK.
Participants are asked to boost donations by filming themselves singing a Bowie song, and the campaign was inspired by a London busker who played nothing but Bowie tracks for a day after news of the Starman singer’s death emerged on 11 January (16).
Pat Kane says, “We’re delighted to help Cancer Research UK at any time and this is a great way to do it. We were as affected by Bowie’s passing as anyone else. We’ve been listening to our favourite Bowie album, Young Americans, and this ballad Win is one we’ve been coming back to again and again. So we decided to busk it – well, in the comfort of our own studio.
“In terms of Cancer Research’s aim of defeating the condition, the chorus of ‘All you’ve got to do is win’ seemed particularly appropriate.”
Bowie passed away aged 69 on 10 January (16) after an 18-month battle with liver cancer.
