The actress and her husband, Brad Hall, decided to check out the ruins of Machu Picchu and rough it in a rainforest as part of a recent wedding anniversary treat – but the South American getaway almost ended in disaster.
Louis-Dreyfus explains, “It was our last night there and I was on edge anyway because there are deadly snakes there and things that can crawl up your urethra and grow in your body…. We were going back to our room… and my husband and I were walking… and I felt something on my leg… We go to our room and we go into the bathroom… and I look over and there’s a tarantula… on Brad. It was like one of those Halloween things you’d put on your door – that big.
“I screamed, ‘There’s a tarantula on your back!’, and he ripped his shirt off so fast and so strongly that it ripped in two; he was like The Hulk. The tarantula fell onto the floor and I was screaming… It scared the living c**p outta me.
“The tour guide came in… and said, ‘It’s a pink-toed male tarantula, and you are so lucky that didn’t bite you…’ I didn’t ask too many questions because I had to go to sleep that night.”
