The Bond Babes … Ranked!

10.
The Babe:
Wai Lin
Who Played Her: Michelle Yeoh
The Film: Tomorrow Never Dies
Who She Was: Agent with the Chinese Party Exterior People’s Force
Why She Was Hot: Perhaps the only Bond beauty who could knock the living daylights out of 007, Wai is a welcome relief from the pretty young things Bond usually toys with. This smart, seductive and mature marital arts mistress doesn’t need too much help from Bond to subdue a gang of thugs — or Bond himself for that matter. Thank goodness he and Wai have a mutual interest in stopping Elliot Carver, a Rupert Murdoch wannabe, from starting war between Britain and China. She’s also not immune to Bond’s charms, although 007 doesn’t get his ally into bed until they’ve saved the world.

KEEP READING: Pussy Galore

[PAGEBREAK]

9.
The Babe:
Pussy Galore
Who Played Her: Honor Blackman
The Film: Goldfinger
Who She Was: Pilot, leader of the Pussy Galore Flying Circus
Why She Was Hot: “I must be dreaming,” Bond muses when Pussy Galore introduces herself to her captive. Depending upon your perspective, Pussy’s blessed or cursed with the most suggestive and humorous name ever bestowed upon a Bond girl. She also is one of the few tough and independent-minded women that Sean Connery’s Bond encountered. Of course, it’s only a matter of time before 007 finally gets a roll in the hay with his captor. This Pussy has claws, but she also knows when it’s time to play.

KEEP READING: Vesper Lynd

[PAGEBREAK]

8.
The Babe:
Vesper Lynd
Who Played Her: Eva Green
The Film: Casino Royale
Who She Was: HM Treasury Agent
Why She Was Hot: She’s the beauty who broke Bond’s heart on his first mission as 007. They meet at a high-stakes poker match where the busty brunette acts as a treasury agent overseeing Bond’s $10 million buy in. He falls hard for her, even quitting his job as an agent, but while the two vacation together in Venice, he learns she’s stolen his poker winnings. Not until after she kills herself in a collapsed building, does he find out that she needed the money to pay a ransom to save her boyfriend and had been protecting Bond every step of the way.

7.
The Babe:
Plenty O’Toole
Who Played Her: Lana Wood
The Film: Diamonds Are Forever
Who She Was: Vegas Vixen
Why She Was Hot: Although her screen time was brief, O’Toole made a lasting impression. The real-life Playboy model and little sis to Natalie Wood played Bond’s would-be girlfriend who suffers an untimely death when villains Wint and Kidd accidentally throw her out the window and into the hotel swimming pool.

KEEP READING: Solitaire

[PAGEBREAK]

6.
The Babe:
Solitaire
Who Played Her: Jane Seymour
The Film: Live and Let Die
Who She Was: Voodoo priestess
Why She Was Hot: Bond rarely exerts too much effort when seducing the love du jour, but with Solitaire, perhaps the easiest to manipulate of Bond’s women, he goes the extra mile. Her power to predict the future lies in her purity, which is why drug czar Mr. Big guards her virginity so closely. He needs her clear vision of the future to successfully expand his heroin business. But Solitaire’s tarot cards — with a little manipulation from Bond — consistently reveal the “Lovers” card, indicating that her future lies with 007. Not that Bond shows any compunction. He willingly deflowers the innocent girl for queen and country.

KEEP READING: Octopussy

[PAGEBREAK]

5.
The Babe:
Octopussy
Who Played Her: Maud Adams
The Film: Octopussy
Who She Was: Smuggler
Why She Was Hot: The daughter of a disgraced British spy, Octopussy lived off her father’s illicit earnings until she made her own fortune as a smuggler. Her latest deal, involving a Faberge egg and a nuclear bomb, attracts Bond’s attention. “Good evening, I wondered when you might arrive,” Octopussy declares when Bond sneaks into her New Delhi home, the Floating Palace. Her sophistication, criminal cunning and alluring looks intrigue Bond, and he soon discovers that she delights in mixing business with pleasure. He also learns that she’s deadlier than the poisonous octopus she keeps as a pet–but she’s not a killer. And, let’s set the record straight for those with dirty minds: Octopussy is a childhood nickname given to her by her father, not a euphemism for any multifaceted bedroom feats Bond may have enjoyed.

KEEP READING: Domino Petachi

[PAGEBREAK]

4.
The Babe:
Domino Petachi
Who Played Her: Kim Basinger
The Film: Never Say Never Again
Who She Was: Prisoner
Why She Was Hot: A true damsel in distress, she’s being held hostage by her lover Maximillian Largo. Bond meets her while looking for her brother Jack, a pilot working for SPECTRE. When she finds out her psycho-boyfriend killed him, she betrays Largo and leaves him for 007.

KEEP READING: Jinx

[PAGEBREAK]

3.
The Babe:
Giacinta “Jinx” Johnson
Who Played Her: Halle Berry
The Film: Die Another Day
Who She Was: NSA Agent
Why She Was Hot: Jinx greets Bond the old-fashioned way — with a tribute to Honey Ryder’s iconic rise from the sea. Wearing a stunning orange bikini, belt and knife, the NSA agent buddies up to Bond in Cuba. She quickly proves she’s tough as nails when she helps Bond track down Colonel Tan-Sun Moon and his henchman Zao, two baddies involved with illegal weapons trading. The few times Jinx is under duress, Bond quickly comes to the rescue — saving her from near drowning and a henchman’s laser.

KEEP READING: Anya Amasova

[PAGEBREAK]

2.
The Babe:
Major Anya Amasova
Who Played Her: Barbara Bach
The Film: The Spy Who Loved Me
Who She Was: Russian secret agent code named XXX
Why She Was Hot: From Russia, seemingly without love, comes the original XXX. Tough, gruff and intimidating, Anya represented the first Bond woman of any substance since On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’s ill-fated Tracy Vicenzo. It’s also a welcome pleasure to witness Anya exploit Bond’s desire to advance her cause. She crosses Bond’s path when both are sent to Cairo to find a tracking device employed to hijack British and Russian nuclear subs. Neither trusts the other, for each country assumes that the other is responsible for the hijackings. A keen observer, Anya immediately hits a nerve when she asks about Bond’s late wife. “You’re sensitive, Mr. Bond,” she coldly notes, an observation rarely made of 007. Sensitive or not, Bond forms an uneasy alliance with her when their respective superiors learn that neither country is behind the hijackings.

KEEP READING: Honey Ryder

[PAGEBREAK]

1.
The Babe:
Honey Ryder
Who Played Her: Ursula Andress
The Film: Dr. No
Who She Was: Diver
Why She Was Hot: The first and perhaps the most famous of Bond women, a taste of Honey remains oh-so-delicious, even four decades later. Andress’ grand entrance remains one of the most memorable and erotic moments in the entire series. Bond, investigating Dr. No’s island fortress, hears a woman singing “Underneath the Mango Tree.” He turns to see beauty personified rise slowly and magnificently from the ocean and tread lightly onto the golden sand. Honey wears a revealing white bikini with a leather knife sheath strapped to her waist. She immediately draws her knife upon seeing Bond and Quarrel, a moment that defines the Bond woman as a gorgeous but deadly object of desire.

KEEP READING: Bonus Bond Girl

[PAGEBREAK]

Bonus
The Babe:
M
Who Played Her: Judi Dench
The Film: GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another DayCasino Royale and Quantum of Solace
Who She Was: Head of Intelligence
Why She Was Hot: M may not have the body, but she sure as heck has the brains to earn the top spot as bonus Bond girl in our book. As the one pulling the strings behind the organization, she’s the only one who can truly tell 007 what to do — even if he doesn’t always listen.
