The Enemy axe gig over illness

British rockers The Enemy have scrapped a Monday night (09Jun14) concert in Staffordshire, England because frontman Tom Clarke is too ill to perform. The singer has been struck down with a “serious” stomach ailment and has been advised by medics to rest up, prompting the Away From Here hitmakers to cancel their show at The Sugarmill in Stoke-on-Trent.
In a Twitter.com post on Monday evening, the apologetic stars write, “Regrettably we’re sorry to announce that Tom’s very unwell and won’t be able to perform tonight in Stoke.
“Tom’s been suffering for most of the tour with a serious and painful stomach condition and today the doctor has said he can’t perform. The shows will be rescheduled as soon as Tom is well enough again.
“So far the tour has been beyond anything we expected. We’d like to thank you all for your support, and ask for your understanding. We’ll keep you updated with Tom’s condition.”
