A Fable (1971)

A Fable (1971)

Synopsis

This tense, tragic drama underscores the horrors of racism in America: not only that perpetuated by whites, but also by blacks. In this story, based on LeRoi Jones' play Slaves, director Al Freeman Jr. plays a black revolutionary leader who has come back to exact his revenge on his ex-wife for having married a white liberal, and on his daughters for having stayed with her. The action occurs in the living room of his wife's house. All the characters involved remain stubbornly attached to their views, especially Freeman's character.
