Synopsis
After the release of his film Schindler's List, Steven Spielberg announced an ambitious plan to finance a series of documentaries in which filmmakers would track down and interview every living survivor of the Holocaust. Eyes of the Holocaust (A Holocaust Szemei), presented by Spielberg in association with Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, was compiled from a number of these interviews, which record the memories of survivors of the Nazi death camps in Hungary. The film also incorporates newsreels from the period, as well as archival photos to illustrate the subjects' stories. The documentary was directed by Janos Szasz, whose parents were both survivors of the Holocaust.
