Synopsis
Writer/director Gilles Bourdos crafts this visually stylist thriller about a prominent New York lawyer whose near-death experience as a young boy comes back to haunt him twenty years after turning away from the tunnel of light and choosing to remain on Earth instead of moving on to the afterlife. At the age of eight, Nathan was attempting to save a little girl when he was struck by a car and pronounced dead. Hovering between two worlds, he turned his back on the tunnel of light and miraculously returned to life. Twenty years later, Nathan has become a brilliant lawyer. But Nathan's professional success masks a deep personal pain. A painful divorce from his wife Claire has left Nathan emotionally bruised. Now, in order to fend off the pain of living far away from his daughter and his ex-wife, Nathan closes himself off from the outside world and immerses himself in his work. But when the mysterious Doctor Kay (John Malkovich) comes knocking on Nathan's door claiming that he can foresee the exact time that certain people will die, the emotional walls erected by the powerful lawyer gradually begin to crumble, finally revealing the reason he turned his back on the light twenty-years prior.
