Though Turkey has produced as many as 100 films a year, very few have been released outside that country. The crime action film Smugglers tells the bleak tale of an unsuccessful struggle by a small group of smugglers in a remote region of Turkey to survive the depredations of a more organized, bigger, and better-connected (more bribes) group. Among the thrilling perils they face is a rain of boulders onto their hideout.
