Romance reigns supreme in this French movie. Sebastien (Jacques Dutronc) is the adopted son of Antoine (François Perier), who has suffered grievously (so he believes) at the hands of Americans. When Sebastien is prepared to good-naturedly withdraw his suit to marry his betrothed because she wants to marry an American lad (Keith Carradine), his father gets so angry he nearly dies.
