Synopsis
For those who might imagine that all the really great adventure "firsts" have already been accomplished, this documentary will set them straight. Between July, 1989 and March, 1990, six men from six different countries, and 32 amazing huskies sledded from one side of the vast frozen continent of Antarctica to the other. The teams included an irrepressible Russian, an American dog trainer, a French sports doctor, a thoughtful Chinese engineer and a young Japanese man who was always prepared to do what was needed. Knowing how completely their lives depended on the others, these very different men learned how to cooperate in every circumstance and became as much of a team as the dogs they traveled with.
