Tiring of life in the remote Mauritius village of Benares, best-friends Mayi (Kristeven Mootien) and Nad (Davidsen Kamanah) set their sights on the city in hopes of finding a change of scenery and some female companionship in this breezy tale from director Barlen Pyamootoo. For as long as they can remember Mayi and Nad have languished in the remote village of Benares, but a recent curious streak has prompted the pair to explore life outside of their sheltered surroundings. A ride to the city with Jimi (Jérôme Boulle) finds the curious pair soon forming a friendly bond with their worldly traveling companion, and after taking kindly to the naïve pair Jimi vows to set the pair up with some friendly, city-dwelling females. Making good on his word upon arrival in the big city, Jimi introduces Mayi and Nad to Mamam (Danielle albert) -- an elegant but business-minded woman who offers the companionship of Mina (Vanessa Li Lun Yuk) and Zelda (Sandra Faro). Though the pair is initially hesitant to join Mayi and Nad on their trip back to Benares, they eventually agree to do so at the behest of the stern Mamam. As the foursome hit the road for the return trip to their backwater village, they soon find that love can blossom under the least likely of circumstances.
