The cheerfully eccentric residents of Bystre, a village in the Czech mountains, have their lives captured on videotape in Bitva O Zivot, a documentary produced for Czech television. Featuring readings from the town's historical records, a local pageant, the annual May Day parade, and a historic recreation of a World War II battle that happened nearby, Bitva O Zivot was received enthusiastically during its screenings at the 2001 Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
