Synopsis
Joseph Stefano, the screenwriter of the original Psycho, wrote and co-produced this somewhat similar suspense-thriller. Gail O'Grady (Eight Is Enough) returns to her childhood home and is plagued by nightmares and disturbed by her cold-hearted mother (Carol Lynley). There is a screwdriver-stabbing and a few predictable revelations about the family's dark past and why O'Grady's father is missing, but the film is generally forgettable. Joanna Miles co-stars.

ABC Blackout
SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 1, 2000 -- Hope they're not big Regis fans in New York City. Because, as things stand right now, Manhattanites aren't going to be seeing a lot of the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" wonder this sweeps month. Time Warner pulled the plug on ABC (and all its related Regis programming) today, blacking out the network on its cable systems, including ones serving NYC, parts of Los Angeles and Philadelphia. All told, 3.5 million households are affected nationwide.
The move is the result of a dispute between Time Warner and Disney, ABC's parent company. The dispute is over (what else?) money.
The blackout couldn't come at a worse time for sweeps fans. Tonight is the start of celebrity week on "Millionaire." (Watch Rosie O'Donnell give her final answer!) And Friday -- oh, God -- brings the series finale of the dear "Boy Meets World."

ABC Blackout Lifted! Regis Lives!
SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 2, 2000 -- Praise the Lord. Time Warner agreed today to return ABC to its cable systems (at least until July 15), restoring fine wares such as "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," "All My Children" and "Two Guys and a Girl" to a deprived TV nation.
On Monday at midnight, the cable giant pulled the plug on the No. 1-rated network. That move -- the result of a really mature corporate tiff with ABC parent company Disney -- left 3.5 million households nationwide bereft of the alphabet net's programming.
Somehow we all managed to survive the night -- even those of us in New York, Houston and parts of Los Angeles who were forced to make due with rival ABC shows such as "Becker."
