Synopsis:
Larry Floyd is a seventeen-year-old out of Hattiesburg Mississippi whose father, Officer Perry Henderson Jr., happens to be the first African American police officer in that city’s history. But when a racist white-man in the city is killed Officer Perry believes that he’s been setup for his murder. Soon Perry frames his son claiming there is overwhelming evidence pointing to Larry. Despite knowing his son is innocent Perry convinces Larry to plead guilty and go for the 23 years in jail to avoid the death penalty in the event the case goes to trial. After his conviction Larry comes to believe that Perry framed him as revenge for his interference in Perry's alcoholic rages toward his wife. Based on a true story.
