A frustrated city-dweller who moved to the country in search of some much needed peace and quiet finds his quest for solitude rudely interrupted when the devil emerges from his infernal underworld to cast a plague of demons upon all of mankind. All Joe Melton ever wanted was to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, and the rural town of Miranda Falls seemed like the perfect place to rest his weary head. But something strange is happening in Miranda Falls, and as the locals are led like lambs to the slaughter Joe's trusty axe seems to take on a personality of its own. Is Joe really losing his marbles, or could his unusually verbose axe be the key to ridding Miranda Falls of a most diabolical invader?
