Nigerian filmmaker Moustapha Alassane directed this satiric comedy-drama in which traditional and modern lifestyles clash in one household. Ali is a young man whose carefree life reflects the influences of the West, but when he returns home from attending a football game with his friends he's in for a surprise -- his parents have arranged for him to marry a woman named Haoua, and not long after meeting her they're wed. Haoua is a young woman from a rural community who has been raised to be an obedient and traditional wife, but Ali doesn't care for her and she has a hard time getting along with her headstrong new husband. Ali meets Henriette, a gal from the city who suits him much more than Haoua, and since he's permitted to have more than one wife, he begins courting her. However, Henriette displays an avarice that Haoua does not, and soon Ali is having a hard time keeping her in the manner she expects, and before long he resorts to crime in order to keep both of his brides happy. Starring Sotigui Kouyate and Djingareye Maiga, FVVA: Femme, Villa, Voiture, Argent (in English, "Women, Home, Car, Money") was revived as part of a retrospective of Alassane's work at the 2010 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
