Synopsis:
A contemporary take on Ray Bradbury's novel, set in a computer-driven, information-laden world, where the fire department's purpose is to burn banned books. The story centers on Guy Montag, a fireman who questions his role and the ethics of the repressive and oppressive society in which he lives. Guy's wife is obsessed with her television "family" and implores Guy to make enough money to buy a fourth TV wall for their home. Guy discovers the wonders of books via a young neighbor, Clarisse. When Clarisse disappears, Guy starts hiding books in his own home. The books are discovered, and Guy flees to avoid arrest. He hooks up with an outlaw band of scholars who have memorized books, waiting for the day when the written word is once again needed.
