Working at a furious pace, master German filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder completed more than 40 films before his untimely death at the age of 36 in 1982. What would have happened if he had moved to Hollywood? Through interviews with some of his collaborators, Fassbinder's methods of working are discussed, as well as how he was affected by the films of Douglas Sirk and how increasing worldwide acclaim made him question his cinematic future. Director Wim Wenders also shares insights on Fassbinder's career and on the memorable night they shared in Hollywood.
