Synopsis:
Life holds many mysteries for Bill: waking from a drug-induced stupor in an antiseptic hospital facility, he has recurring flashbacks of cracking up his truck in some kind of government installation and being found at the base of a cliff, hypothermic and unconscious. Bill's flashbacks are intermingled with the seemingly delusional conviction that he's being prepared for a lethal injection by the government. Into his Kafkaesque world walks Ann Johnston, a prim though attractive young doctor who's been ordered to evaluate him and provide recovery therapy. Clearly dubious about Ann's role, Bill alternately confronts and cooperates with the doctor during a series of emotionally charged meetings. What emerges from these sessions is a wicked game of cat-and-mouse in which the ultimate question facing Bill is: will Ann help him find sanity, or has she been sent here to wield the needle that kills him?
