19 year old first generation Mexican American dancer Carmen (Aimee Garcia) summons the courage to pursue her dreams of hip-hop dance stardom, only to learn that her biggest obstacle on the road to success is her own fear and insecurity. Raised on the streets of Chicago, Carmen attends school by day, and dances in underground clubs by night. Encouraged by her professor to audition for a prominent California dace school, Carmen fights to take control of her future and help a friend break free from in an abusive relationship.
